This will be Kevin's fourth loan since he joined Burnley from Cork City in January 2010.
In the 2010/11 season he spent much of the season with Accrington Stanley and last season returned to Accrington for the first half of the season before signing for Rochdale in the New Year.
This deal today is on his 22nd birthday and he will go straight into the squad for the Bournemouth game and will be with Portsmouth for the first four weeks of the season.
