Lincoln keen to extend Anderson stay

Tom, who was 21 a month ago joined Lincoln on 19th September on a one month loan but he's made such an impression that they are already looking into the possibility of extending the loan.

Speaking to the Lincolnshire Echo, Imps' boss Gary Simpson said: "Anderson has been terrific. I saw him play about 18 months ago for Burnley Under-21s and he was an honest boy. He put his head on it, he headed it and shifted it, as I like to say.

"He's brave, he's a proper defender and he's just what we needed. The kid has done well and if he wants to stay and the chairman says it's okay for me to keep him, then I will do it."

Simpson, referring to the introduction of Anderson in the team, continued: "Since we changes it, all of a sudden we've conceded two goals in three games, that's a bit different to 21 in 11. So they are doing something right."

Tom has said he would be keen to stay. "I will have to wait and see if it is extended," he said. "I would like to stay on though. I'm playing games, it's as simple as that. At my age, I need to be playing matches and I'm at a good club."

He's available for four more games before the first month comes to an end but it looks very likely that, should Burnley agree to it, he'll remain with Lincoln potentially for a further two months as is allowed in the Conference.
