Lenny to play against the Geordies

Lenny looked odds on a week ago to extend his stay at Turf Moor but it was no go after Stan had spoken to Chairman Barry Kilby. With no immediate move elsewhere Lenny said he was contemplating a move outside of football.

That was until he was given this opportunity by the Cumbrians and he will be one of four trialists taking part in a specially arranged game against Newcastle United as Collins looks to strengthen his squad.

Former Franchise player Dessie Byrne, recently in the news following a court case, will also be playing as will two teenagers in Joe Gamble of Reading and Tottenham’s John Sutton.

Collins has confirmed that all four will play some part in the game and hopefully this will give Lenny a chance to get back into the game.
