Lenny stays at Swansea after all

The Swans were keen to keep Lenny and offered him a new deal immediately but with one big condition that proved difficult for the former Claret. The major problem is that he lives in Preston and travelling to Swansea on a daily basis for training was not possible.

Stan came to the rescue last season and he trained with the Clarets, as did Brad Maylett during his loan spell at the Vetch Field, travelling to South Wales only for the matches.

Flynny has said no to that and any deal was conditional on Lenny moving somewhat closer to Swansea.

Eventually he has decided to do that, well half way. He will retain his home base in Preston with his family staying there whilst he will find himself accommodation in the Swansea area.

With that done Lenny Johnrose will remain a Swansea player next season as they look to pull themselves well clear of the bottom places. He played a total of 15 league games for them last season scoring 3 goals this after having had short spells with both Burnley and Bury.

The last of those goals came in the last day win at home to Hull that secured safety and was also his 50th in league football. He is now 33 and feared a year ago that his playing career could be over but that is not the case as he looks forward to another milestone. He is just two games short of 400 league appearances, 78 of which were for the Clarets.
