The offer was made at the end of last week and Lenny took the weekend to decide whether to accept or not. McMahon described the offer as the best they could make but it was not enough for Lenny who has turned it down and instead has opted to try and get himself fixed up elsewhere.

McMahon appeared surprised at Johnrose’s decision given the current financial climate within the Football League but Lenny obviously thinks he can find himself a better deal elsewhere. His options now look to have been cut with Blackpool moving swiftly to bring in Peter Clarke and Keith Southern on short term deals from Everton.

That would seem to close the door on Lenny should he have a change of heart. For now he remains out of work.
