Lenny gets trial

It was if nothing had changed for Lenny when the Clarets reported back for pre-season training. He was at Gawthorpe for pre-season training but after over three years with the club he was just training with us to keep fit rather than being a member of the squad.

With the first team squad now over in the Isle of Man Lenny has been training with Blackpool and played in their 3-0 friendly defeat against Derby at the Baseball Ground. Manager Steve McMahon has made no commitment as yet and has said that he is taking a look at him.

Lenny was one of the signings that Stan made during the second half of his first season at Burnley as we fought off the threat of relegation. He was sent off at Wycombe almost before his Burnley career had got up and running and then an injury restricted him for the rest of the season.

Injuries played a part in his entire spell at the Turf and he started just 46 league games for us with 26 more substitute appearances. He was always popular with the fans despite the fact that he started his career just down the M65 and that should be a pointer to the fans should Stan decide to sign Marlon Broomes.

As for Lenny, let’s hope he does well at Blackpool and wins himself a contract.
