Leeds want two former Clarets

Two former Clarets are on his list and one of then, John Oster, is already training with them and keen to get a second chance at Elland Road after blowing it first time round last Christmas.

He was on loan from Sunderland and was sent back following an incident at a Christmas event and that ultimately contributed to his sacking at Sunderland and his arrival at Burnley. He’d been in top form for Leeds and so, if all is forgiven and forgotten, then Blackwell will be more than keen to take a chance on him.

Blackwell’s assistant Sam Ellis will have told him all about Robbie Blake and that’s why he’s already made moves to try and take him from Birmingham, just six months after he joined the Premiership club from Burnley for a fee that became £1.5 million after they remained in the top division.

He’s dropped down the pecking order at St Andrew’s with the signing of Mikael Forssell, this after starting just two league games for them along with nine substitute appearances. Much will depend on whether Robbie is prepared to give up on his Premiership dream so quickly, he would hardly be likely to be heading back to the top with Leeds this season.
