Granada chairman Charles Allen looks set to get Nationwide football back on the cheap
In their statement yesterday Burnley did say that the ban was not indefinite and if Carlton and Granada could come to an agreement with the Football League then they would reconsider.

The club's Marketing Manager Edoardo Abis said, "Due to the distress that Carlton and Granada have caused us we have taken the decision, along with a number of other clubs, to ban them from entering Turf Moor. This is not an indefinite ban, as if they can come to some agreement with the Football League then we would reconsider our stance."

I would think Burnley's idea of an agreement with the Football League is some considerable payment close to the £130 million they got away with last week.

That doesn't look as though it is going to happen and it looks certain now that the Football League have made an agreement with the companies. This is not a compensation but a deal to show Football League highlights with the deal estimated to be worth £2 million per year.

That is not £2 million per club (the money lost by Burnley for each of the next two years) but £2 million for the entire Football League.

Where this quite leaves Burnley now is uncertain. They say other clubs have also taken the decision to ban the ITV from their grounds although as yet none of these clubs have come out publicly.

This could mean Burnley home matches will not be included in any highlights programmes shown by ITV with the ban obviously set to stay in place.

We asked you for your thoughts on the ban by the Clarets and would welcome more of your thoughts on the decision taken by Burnley Football Club.
