Laws set to land Cork

Brian Laws - set to make Jack Cork his fifth signing
That player is 20-year-old Chelsea midfielder Jack Cork whose dad Alan, the former Wimbledon centre forward, was sacked recently by some biblical character at Bolton.

The young Cork signed a new three year deal at Stamford Bridge at the beginning of this season but is still to taste first team action with his club. But he's certainly not without first team experience and in a series of loans has already played over one hundred league games.

He had two separate loan spells with Bournemouth in the 2006/07 season and the following season moved up to the Championship with Scunthorpe in a season long loan deal.

Last season saw him with Southampton and then Watford whilst this season he's been at Coventry where he played 21 league games for them.

All but seven of his 104 appearances have been in the Championship and some of those could have been with Laws who tried to sign him last season for Sheffield Wednesday.

He wouldn't have been available for us today given the opposition but it is likely that this loan move will be concluded on Monday.
