Brian Laws - completed his sixth signing with the loan capture of Jack Cork
Cork, son of former Wimbledon striker Alan, has been linked with the Clarets over the last few days and this afternoon we've been able to clinch that deal and he'll be with Burnley for the rest of this season.

He's played in over a hundred league games, virtually all of them starts, for a number of Football League clubs. All but a handful are at Championship level and he's spent the first half of this season at Coventry where's been a regular.

Now he's being asked to step up into the Premier League with Burnley after Laws clinched the signing that he tried to make back in August 2008 when he wanted him at Sheffield Wednesday.

Laws said: "I am very pleased to get Jack from Chelsea. We feel we have got a good acquisition to the squad. I've tracked him for quite a while. He's played a lot of games in the Championship and has been greatly admired for his football.

"It's an addition to the midfield where I feel we need to strengthen having picked up a couple of little injuries and niggles. He's an England Under-21 international and I spoke to Stuart Pearce about him and Stuart Gray has trained with him with England so we know a lot about him.

"He is very good on the ball, can deal with it in tight situations, doesn't give it away cheaply and he's a quality player. He has got good energy levels and he can pick a pass and we need that quality on the ball. I think his qualities will embrace the fact that we want to play good football."
