Laws in at Shamrock

It's a short term appointment for Laws, who has been out of work since losing his job at Burnley in December 2010, and he'll be involved with Shamrock for seven games, six in the league and the EA Sports Cup Final, before the 2012 season draws to a close.

Chairman Jonathan Roche said when announcing the appointment: "We have six important league games and the EA Sports Cup Final coming up over the next month and a half, and Brian is coming in to help the existing back room staff to do as well as possible in those games.

"Bringing Brian in also gives the club some breathing space to take our time to pick the next manager. Brian's experience in the game will help us very much in the short term, and he has recruited many players from Ireland so he is not a stranger to the league."

Laws comes in following the sacking of Stephen Kenny last Tuesday and will work alongside former Newcastle and Watford midfielder Stephen Glass who was placed in temporary charge last week following Kenny's departure.
