Laws here for FA Cup

Last updated : 23 January 2004 By Tony Scholes

He was here for the league win against Crewe when Richard Chaplow scored his first Burnley goal to win the game for us and had a quietish game other than awarding us a very dubious penalty indeed. We did balance things up by missing the penalty.

He is no stranger to Burnley cup ties and was in charge of our Worthington Cup match against Huddersfield last season and later the 3rd round FA Cup tie against Grimsby.

He’s not been too busy with his cards this season and to date in 19 matches there have been 52 yellow cards and 5 red cards with 3 of those reds coming in one game between the First Division’s two over physical teams Stoke and West Brom.

He’s anything but even with his yellow cards and despite the last 5 having been given to home team players it is still 19 home and 33 away.

At least Bally isn’t here now, there is one thing for certain that he would be carded if this referee or his brother David, no longer on the league list, was referee.
