There is good news though for Burnley fans - Robbie is going nowhere. Manager Brian Laws has confirmed today that the club would not consider him going out on loan when the Football League window opens next week.

"Robbie is an integral part of the team at this football club," Laws said. "He has had major success here and he's a folk hero here. We need quality players between now and the end of the season to support the team and he's a quality player so there was no chance of him going anywhere."

Barnsley boss Mark Robins said he'd tried to get Robbie, but Laws confirmed: "Nobody has come in and asked the question. Barnsley asked about Rodriguez and we were happy to do that because Jay needs games.

"I think he has got something but he's just come back form injury and he needs games. He will get seven games in 28 days there which will be fantastic for us. And he may bag a few goals. He was only on the park for 30 seconds the other night when he scored and he's definitely got something and that will give him a boost."
