Kevin Ball - broken nose
Tony Grant was withdrawn at half time after feeling his hamstring and the quick action of the staff in taking him off means he could be available for tonight's game at Rotherham. Had he carried on in the second half and made it worse he could have been facing a few weeks on the sidelines as we have seen recently with Glen Little and Paul Weller.

Kevin Ball also picked up a first half injury and it has been confirmed that he has broken his nose. Stan doesn't expect that it will keep Bally out of the side though. When he received treatment for the injury on Saturday, compulsory with it bleeding, it caused a few questions to be asked as to whether Bally has received treatment at all during any of his Burnley games before.

He was handed the captaincy at Watford and retained it at Barnsley despite Coxy returning. I suspect he would have been first choice after Steve Davis but was out of the side at the time. I don't think he will relinquish the armband that easily and I expect to see him in the starting line up.

Other than that there are no new injuries and it also appears that Mitchell Thomas is almost ready for a recall although I don't expect to see him in the squad.

So it is guessing time again and although I have been close recently I have not named the starting eleven correctly for a few weeks. A lot will depend on Tony Grant's fitness but I suspect he might not start and will go for the eleven that started the second half which is Marlon Beresford, Dean West, Ian Cox, Arthur Gnohere, Lee Briscoe, Glen Little, Paul Weller, Kevin Ball, Alan Moore, Ian Moore, Gareth Taylor.

Tony Grant, if fit enough, will then take his place on the bench alongside new signing Robbie Blake who is still not 100% fit. I don't think we will have a keeper on the bench, it looks as though Luigi really blew his chances at Cheltenham, and the other three are likely to be Gordon Armstrong (apparently now the sub keeper), Paul Cook and Brad Maylett.

Things are not all they could be at Rotherham and manager Ronnie Moore has had a go at the fans for not getting behind the players. Apparently some of the fans were abusive on Saturday and Moore has suggested that they would be better off staying away.

Rotherham though have a couple of injury problems. Rob Scott is ruled out at right back and his place is likely to be taken by Marvin Bryan and captain Kevin Watson is rated as very doubtful after picking up an ankle injury on Saturday against Stockport.

The team that beat Stockport was: Mike Pollitt, Marvin Bryan, Paul Hurst, Chris Swailes, Martin McIntosh, Chris Sedgwick, Kevin Watson (Stewart Talbot 74), John Mullin, Andy Monkhouse (Paul Warne 74), Alan Lee, Mark Robins. Subs not used: Ian Gray, Guy Branston, Richie Barker.
