Credible rumours claim Lansbury has a release clause which is only applicable for a week in June, allowing him to move to a Premier League club for a fee in the region of £2.5million.

This rumour may not be as far fetched as it sounds. The 25-year-old Lansbury has only one year left to run on his present contract at the City ground.

Sean Dyche's relentless pursuit of the player and the lure of the Barclays Premier League might just prove to be too much of a temptation for Lansbury when he sits down to decide his long-term future.

It is a well known fact that Lansbury came close to joining the Clarets in January 2016, in what was to become the longest running non event in Clarets' transfer history. Lansbury pulled out of the move to Turf Moor at the very last minute, following "talks" with Forest supremo Fawaz Al Hasawi.

There is little doubt that Lansbury could plug the hole left in the Clarets' midfield following the departure of Joey Barton to Ibrox. (TEC).
