Lafferty staying at Darlington

The coaching staff at Burnley are obviously keen to see Kyle get more experience with the League Two club but for the second month we have included a recall clause that will allow us to call him back at any time.

Kyle joined Darlington in the first week in January and has played six games for them, and scored three goals in those games against Notts County, Peterborough and Mansfield and they were very keen to keep him there for longer.

He’s proved popular with the supporters too, with one Darlington fan telling us this week that keeping Kyle there was key to their promotion hopes. He’ll now line up for them again when they take on Bristol Rovers at the Darlington Arena this Saturday.

Meanwhile injury has forced him to miss the trip to Israel this week with the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad.
