Lafferty linked with Celtic

Neither club have commented, any offer is unconfirmed, and it hardly seems likely that the Clarets would even consider such an offer for the young striker who is currently establishing himself in the first team squad at Turf Moor and was back in the side at Southampton last Saturday.

Kyle's the only player to have scored a league goal for the Clarets since the beginning of December. This week his new team mate Ade Akinbiyi said of him: “I couldn't believe it when I came back and watched Kyle in training. He's come on leaps and bounds, and his work rate is phenomenal. For a young lad who's hungry and wants to do well, he's got massive ability and a big future ahead of him.”

It's hardly likely that the Clarets have strengthened the squad recently just to go and weaken it again, and certainly not for a fee that is small compared to some of the ridiculous figures being quoted right now.

If there is anything in this offer from Celtic then I expect it to be turned down flat by the Clarets.
