The player himself has said that he's struggled recently with a run of poor form but he's certainly done well in the last two home games although unfortunately his performance on Saturday wasn't able to lift us to a win.

However, his performance did give him the maximum points in the Clarets Mad Player of the Year table after he won both the man of the match poll and the player ratings thread on the message board.

He polled almost a third of the votes in the poll, 33.1% to be exact and that was more than double Jon Harley in second place who had a 15.4% share of the vote. Midfielder James O'Connor took third place after winning 13.1% of the vote.

It was the same top two in the player ratings. Lafferty won it with a rating of 6.70 out of 10 whilst Harley came second with a rating of 6.24. Robbie Blake took third place and his rating was 6.03 out of 10.

It has made little difference to the table with Wade Elliott still the clear leader, fourteen points ahead of Clarke Carlisle. Lafferty's six points have taken him into the top eight and now just one top performance away from the top five.
