Lafferty back in action

The four match suspension finally came to an end on Saturday with our game at West Brom and Kyle will be available again this week when we entertain Colchester. But he was back in action last night when he made his fifteenth appearance for Northern Ireland.

His last appearance for his country was as a substitute against Spain last November in a European Championships Qualifier, but he was back in the starting line up last night alongside David Healy in a friendly against Bulgaria at Windsor Park, Belfast.

He had a chance on the half hour following a Chris Brunt cross but was unable to convert and the only goal of the game came a few minutes later when Jonny Evans turned the ball into his own net following a ball in from Manchester City's Martin Petrov.

Kyle's game came to an end just before the hour when he was replaced by Scunthorpe's Martin Paterson. He'll now return ready and available for Owen Coyle's squad this weekend.
