Kyle celebrates his goal
When did we last have five players representing their countries at the same time? It's not a question I can answer but it is certainly good to be able to report tonight that Michael Duff, Kyle Lafferty, Steve Jones, Joey Gudjonsson and Besart Berisha have all played and even better that both Kyle and Besart have netted their second goals in international football.

Kyle netted the third as Northern Ireland beat Liechtenstein in a European Championships qualifier. The final score was 3-1, and needless to say David Healy got the other two. Kyle played a major part in Healy's first goal, should have done better with a first half header, but when his chance came in the second half he made no mistake with a left foot shot into the bottom corner.

He played the first 75 minutes, and fellow Claret Michael Duff played the whole game. There was even time for Steve Jones to get on, replacing Keith Gillespie with five minutes to go as the Irish moved into second place in the table leaving them with a good chance of making the finals.

Gudjonsson and Berisha both picked up their first caps since joining the Clarets. Joey missed out on a game against Spain towards the end of last season because of the pending birth of his third child, but was in action tonight as Iceland recorded a 1-1 draw in a friendly against Canada. And for Berisha, it was a first goal on home soil as he netted Albania's second in a 3-0 win in Tirana against Malta.
