Kyle storms home

Last updated : 02 April 2008 By Tony Scholes
Kyle Lafferty
Playing up front he turned in a performance that won him the sponsors man of the match on the day and he was also very much the winner in both or man of the match poll and our player ratings on the message board.

He stormed to the top in the man of the match vote, winning 69.2% of the vote. That was some distance ahead of Wade Elliott who claimed second place with 10.6% and James O'Connor took 4.0% of the vote and third place.

It was the same in the player ratings, Lafferty was way ahead of anyone else. His rating was 8.81 out of 10 whilst Joey Gudjonsson was second and his rating was 7.08. Both Wade Elliott and Jon Harley took third place jointly with a rating of 7.06.

The six points have taken Kyle into joint fifth place in the table alongside Alan Mahon whilst Jon Harley and James O'Connor continue to make good ground just behind. But the three points picked up by Wade Elliott have taken his lead at the top to fifteen points and only a superb run of form from Robbie Blake is now likely to stop him becoming our player of the year.

Voting is now underway for the March goal of the Month. There are eight goals to choose from and no lack of choice on quality goals - see the front page for the voting poll.
