Celtic made a £500,000 offer for him back in January, a much publicised offer that led to Kyle unfortunately being quoted (or should we say misquoted) after he was caught out by an agency journalist.
That offer was turned down without a second thought by Burnley. Steve Cotterill said it was nowhere near acceptable, and in an official statement from the club it was made clear that any further offers would not be welcomed because Kyle was not for sale.
It's five months ago, and now it looks as if Wolves are preparing a bid for him with their local media suggesting contact has already been made with the Clarets. They reckon that he's one of three priority targets along with Scunthorpe's Billy Sharp and Freddy Eastwood from Southend.
Yes, that's three strikers, to go with all the ones they have already. So many strikers, for a minute I thought I'd missed some news and Neil Warnock had taken over from Mick McCarthy. The Wolverhampton press are suggesting he's a mystery target, but if he is a target for them then it is certainly no mystery any longer.
