He's gone on to play ten full internationals for his country. That started with a debut against Uruguay in New Jersey a year ago last week, and his most recent cap was won in their superb 2-1 win over Sweden in a European Championship qualifier.

However, with no full internationals scheduled for the Irish he's been called up by Under-21 boss Roy Millar and Kyle will be in the squad for their important European Championship Under-21 game against Moldova which will be played at the Sheriff Stadium in Tiraspol on Friday 1st June.

The Irish squad also have a build up game against Scotland a week earlier to be played at Partick Thistle's Firhill Stadium in Glasgow a week earlier although Kyle is not expected to feature in that game.

The full side are not back in action until August when they have an important European qualifier against Liechtenstein in Belfast. By then they will be under new management with Lawrie Sanchez having departed to take over at Fulham.
