Kyle gets contract extension

Kyle, in just his second season as an apprentice, signed his first professional deal back in January when he committed himself to the Clarets until the summer of 2008, shortly before Chris McCann signed his three and a half year deal.

Since then things really have looked up for him, he's had a loan spell in League Two with Darlington and scored three goals, made his Northern Ireland Under-21 debut and got his first start with the Clarets in the home game against Reading.

He's still looking for his first Burnley goal but he's done more than enough to impress Steve Cotterill and his coaching staff and that has led to his contract being extended by a further year until the end of the 2008/09 season.

That's four players now who have contracts for the next three seasons, besides McCann, Kyle has joined both Andy Gray and Alan Mahon who have recently joined us on loan with three year deals to follow.
