Kinnear in at Forest

Former Spurs player Kinnear has been out of work since his bizarre sacking at Luton in the summer. He was sacked by someone from Northampton Town who just happened to be visiting and then failed to get his job back in a fans’ poll despite finishing as the clear leader.

He’d been at Luton for just over two years and had been in charge as they went down to the 3rd Division and then back up again a year later.

But he is best known for his time at Wimbledon where he was in charge from January 1992 until the end of the 1998/99 season. That time was spent entirely in the top division and during his time there they actually won five games more than they lost.

He was replaced by the welly wearing Egil Olsen as the Norwegians took control of the club from Sam Hammam.

There was talk of Glenn Hoddle getting the job whilst former Forest striker Mr. Misery Trevor Francis was linked. The Forest fans were keen to see one of two former players, Stuart Pearce and Nigel Clough, get the job.

But Chairman Nigel Doughty, known to have a difficult relationship with Hart, targeted Kinnear immediately and the 57-year-old new man in charge will be paraded at a press conference tomorrow.
