King Arthur looks set to leave

Arthur had a loan spell with Queen’s Park Rangers earlier in the season and incredibly was playing for the R’s on a night when we went to Ipswich without a solitary central defender in the squad.

He scored that night in the LDV Vans Trophy but was immediately recalled and went straight back into the Burnley side at West Ham where he had a good game in a 2-2 draw.

He missed just one game up to Boxing Day because of suspension but has not played since with a second suspension costing him his place followed by a hamstring injury.

Apparently Rangers have now agreed a deal with the Clarets but are waiting to establish whether the hamstring problem has cleared up before going ahead with the signing.

If so then Arthur looks set to return to QPR initially on loan with them paying a small fee should they decide to sign him on a permanent basis.

It has looked clear for some time that his future might no longer be at Burnley given some of the comments Stan has made about him. It does now look as though the player who Burnley fans took to immediately and who was crowned King at Deepdale just before Christmas 2001 could have played his last game in a Claret & Blue shirt.
