Keogh will not be joining Clarets

It really is a strange one and the club have tonight said that we will no longer be signing the player, that they understood he wished to sign for us but after further discussions with his agent an agreement could not be made. It goes on to say that the club has decided not to pursue its interest.

Yesterday the club confirmed that he had already signed a two year deal with an option for a third, but it looks as though they were too quick off the mark and they hadn’t signed him at all.

Even before the club confirmed the signing there was news filtering through from Stoke that no such deal had been completed and that was further strengthened today when he wasn’t in the squad.

Manager Steve Cotterill was asked about it after the 0-0 draw at Cheltenham and it was only then that he said that Keogh had not signed, and not only that but he wouldn’t be signing.

So we are back down to five new signings and the search continues.
