Kember accuses Chadwick of diving

Kember is still fuming over the performance of referee Chris Foy and is set to get himself into trouble with the FA with his constant bleating about the referee’s performance.

He has already said that Palace will be making a strong appeal against the red card given to Wayne Routledge after watching the replay on video.

"I just can’t see how you can do one thing at one end and do nothing at the other. It was complete inconsistency. He said to Dougie Freedman that he was going away from goal but when fouled by the Burnley defender but having looked at the video that was complete and utter nonsense.

"It was certainly more of a sending off than Wayne Routledge’s was because Wayne actually made an attempt to get out of the way."

Kember added: "Looking at the video, you can’t actually see whether he touched him but Wayne says he jumped and his foot never touched him and the boy dived. We are going to appeal Wayne’s one but there’s nothing we can do about Shaun’s.

"It wasn’t a dirty game and there wasn’t a bad foul all afternoon, yet we have had two players sent off.

"Shaun’s first booking was complete and utter nonsense, and the second one was just a challenge - there was nothing malicious about it and he won the ball."

I think Mr. Kember needs to take a much closer look at the video, there is definitely contact between Chadwick and Routledge and at pace too. Admittedly the offence took place some five yards outside the penalty box and you have to question just how referee Foy could have ever initially given a penalty.

Whilst I have some sympathy with the Palace manager over their penalty incident he and is player are talking absolute nonsense regarding the first red card. Diving indeed – we sold Papadopoulos in the summer.
