Kačaniklić, who joined Burnley on loan from Fulham almost two weeks ago, has already won five caps for Sweden and could boost that to seven by the end of this month.

He's been named in the Sweden squad for one World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland in Stockholm on 23rd March which will be followed by a friendly international in Zilina against Slovakia three days later.

Alex is one of four English based players named by Sweden, the others are Sebastian Larsson (Sunderland), Jonas Olsson (West Brom) and Martin Olsson (Blackburn).

Meanwhile there is more World Cup action for Dane Richards and Jamaica. They face Panama and Costa Rica in the next round of matches. The first of them will be played at their national stadium in Kingston on 22nd March and four days later they will play Costa Rica in the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica.

Richards already has 41 caps for Jamaica and he too will be joined by a number of English based players such as Nyron Nosworthy (Watford), Adrian Mariappa (Reading), Lloyd Doyle (Watford), Rodolph Austin (Leeds), Jobi McAnuff (Reading), Jermaine Johnson (Sheffield Wednesday), Marvin Elliott (Bristol City), Garath McLeary (Reading), Jermaine Beckford (Huddersfield) and Theo Robinson (Barnsley).

Other Clarets who could receive call ups are Danny Lafferty (Northern Ireland) and David Edgar (Canada). Northern Ireland have qualifiers against Russia and Israel and Canada, who are out of the World Cup, have a friendly against Japan which will be played in Qatar.
