Jordan was up against Zoltan Gera for much of the game but he came out on top against the former West Brom player to take top place in both the vote and the ratings. He polled no less than 25.8% of the vote to take first place with Chris McCann second with 18.4% of the vote. Captain Steven Caldwell came third with a 12.7% of the vote.

The two defenders shared the top spot in the player ratings. Both Caldwell and Jordan netted ratings of 8.38 out of 10 as the Clarets kept another clean sheet in beating the Premier League outfit. Striker Martin Paterson took third place with a rating of 7.84 out of 10.

It's the first time Jordan has won the man of the match since joining the Clarets in the summer of 2007 and the points have taken him into joint fourth in the player of the season table. Martin Paterson still leads, ahead of second place Chris McCann with Graham Alexander in third place.

The points awarded from this game are Stephen Jordan 6, Steven Caldwell 4, Chris McCann 2 and Martin Paterson 1.
