Jones set for loan move

Jones hasn't played any league football since he went to Crewe on loan at the end of last season, and he hasn't featured for Burnley competitively since coming on as a substitute in the 2-1 win at Coventry in January.

With no real prospect of breaking into the first team right now it is looking increasingly likely that he could be on the move again in a loan deal with the club having received enquries.

Owen Coyle said: I have had a chat with Steve and, given the level he has played and the experience he's had, I wouldn't be averse to him going out for a month to get match fitness, so we will wait and see what comes of that.

"There have been a couple of clubs enquired, but we need to decide the best thing for Steve and the football club."

It could be that his former club Crewe could be one of the clubs interested. Jones himself said that he would like to return there one day on a permanent basis. League One strugglers Huddersfield were also linked with him a few weeks ago although that was dismissed at the time.
