Jones joins Saddlers

Jones didn't feature at all for Burnley last season and his football came via a short loan spell at Huddersfield followed by a longer one with Bradford City. He was inevitably released at the end of his three year contract after our success at Wembley.

Today he has become Chris Hutchings' second summer signing for Walsall and has signed a two year deal with them.

Manager Hutchings said: "He is a player who will excite people. We had to fight off plenty of competition from elsewhere to secure his services and he is a great acquisition for this football club.

"He can create and score goals and his experience will benefit those around him. He is comfortable on the left, right and through the middle, so he will increase our options."

Jones joined the Clarets from Crewe in the summer of 2006 and had a successful run in the side on the left in the first half of that season when the Clarets were riding high. But an injury followed by a loss of form meant he played very little in his last two seasons as a Burnley player.

With Gabor Kiraly at TSV Munich and Alan Mahon having signed for Tranmere earlier this week it means all our released players have got new clubs ahead of the 2009/10 season.
