It was sometime ago that the Clarets revealed that Northern Ireland international Jones would be a summer signing, in fact just a few days after the last game of last season. The player opted not to sign a new deal at Crewe which enabled the Clarets to secure the move on a Bosman transfer once into July.

He's since been involved with the Northern Ireland squad in America over the summer and reported to Turf Moor on Friday with the rest of the squad ready for the new season and as training starts on Monday he will officially be a full time Claret.

He'll join Andy Gray and Alan Mahon, both of whom have made their moves to Burnley permanent, and his former Crewe colleague Stephen Foster who will also be completing a Bosman move.

And all four of them are expecting to be in action in just a week's time when we play what has now become a traditional pre-season game at Accrington Stanley.
