Adam Jones - signed for Rhyl
Adam ended his three year association with the Clarets on the completion of his three year scholarship, which was interrupted with a cruciate ligament injury that kept him out for the first year.

He was looking at a couple of options in the United States but has instead opted for a deal with Rhyl, not too far from his St Asaph home. The Welsh club have just ended the 2004/05 season in second place in the Welsh Premier League, four points behind winners TNS, and will play in the UEFA Cup qualifiers in July.

Adam is not the only former Burnley trainee to move to the North Welsh club this week, Tom Mutton has also rejoined them after playing for Connagh’s Quay last season.

There’s also good news for Earl Davis who has been offered a new deal with Southport and will next season be playing his football in a higher division with Southport having gone back up to the Nationwide Conference.

They have had to fight off interest from a number of league clubs to secure his services after he showed some excellent form in the second half of last season.

And there’s news too of former striker Kevin Henderson who has been released by Carlisle on their promotion back into the Football League. He had the option of joining Workington in the Conference North or Scarborough a league higher but has opted to go back to the north east and will be playing his football for Gateshead in the Unibond League.

Henderson, who seems to have forgotten he played for the Clarets, said: “I started out with Morpeth Town in non-league football and thought I’ve enjoyed myself with Hartlepool and then Carlisle, it will be nice to come back to my roots.”

There’s no news of any of the other players released by the Clarets as yet.
