Johnson says he is considering a Turf Moor move

The player is Nottingham Forest's David Johnson and a player we told you about just last Thursday. That was just speculation but today Johnson's agent, Philip Graham has confirmed the offer and explained that Johnson definitely will be allowed to leave the City Ground on a free transfer.

Graham said, "The Burnley offer is something we are considering and expect a decision soon. He would prefer to go somewhere permanently rather than on loan. He could have stayed at Sheffield Wednesday on loan. He is a high earner and Forest are in financial trouble and are willing to let him go for free."

Stan knows all about him after picking him up on a free transfer from Manchester United before selling to Ipswich Town in a deal that saw him valued at over £1 million. His performances at Portman Road persuaded Forest to part with in excess of £3 million for him just over a year ago.

Barry Kilby said we were looking to strengthen the squad before the deadline and David Johnson could well be one of the players coming in to a side currently struggling to score goals.
