Johnrose in Turf Moor return

Lenny Johnrose
Lenny, or Jenny Longnose as he's often called, joined the Clarets in early 1999 as we were starting to build the squad for a promotion push the following season. He spent three and a half years with us but was released at the end of the 2001/02 season having failed to start a game all season.

Amazingly, just two games into the following season he was re-signed on a short term deal and played six games before moving on to Bury and then Swansea. Then, right on the transfer deadline in March 2004, Stan Ternent brought him back for a third time as we fought relegation.

He made seven more appearances as we won just enough points to stave off the drop before he hung his boots up and moved into a career in sports science.

Now, tomorrow, Lenny will be back at Burnley as the half time draw at our game against Watford, the team he made is last home debut against in April 2004, a game that was lost 3-2 with Mark McGregor and Dele Adebola getting our goals.
