Joey in League team

When we were riding high in the early months of the season we found ourselves the very last club to be recognised, and even then they chose our goalkeeper, and in more recent weeks we haven't had anyone that would qualify.

So today's news that midfielder Joey Gudjonsson has made the team is very pleasing. He joined the Clarets last month during the transfer window and had struggled to find his form, which was hardly a surprise given that he had been separated from his family with his wife shortly expecting a baby.

This was Joey's sixth start for the Clarets since making his debut as a substitute against Stoke City, and being nominated in the team after what was his best performance yet in a Burnley shirt should be a confidence boost for him ahead of the game against Palace this Saturday.

The full team was: Matt Murray (Wolves), Danny Simpson (RK Sunderland), Patrick Kisnorbo (Leicester), Matt Heath (Leeds), Gareth Bale (Southampton), Ray Parlour (Hull), Steve Watson (Sheffield Wed), Joey Gudjonsson (Burnley), Levi Porter (Leicester), Michael Chopra (Cardiff), Dean Windass (Hull).
