Jimmy Mullen takes over at Walsall

Money took Walsall up from League Two in his first season and appointed Jimmy as his right hand man at the start of this season. It was a season that promised the midlands club with a chance of a second promotion but any hopes of reaching the end of season play offs ended when they lost at home to Bournemouth last Saturday.

Today came the surprise news that he was leaving the club and Money himself has said: "Looking to the future, I believe that this decisions is in the best interests of both myself and Walsall Football Club," adding: "The timing of my departure will give the club the maximum opportunity to bring in a new manager, and to give him the chance to bring in his own players for next season.

Chairman Jeff Bonser added: "We would like to play on record our appreciation for the work that Richard has undertaken for the club, and to wish him well for the future."

The club have given Mullen the role in the interim and he'll be in charge of their game this coming Saturday at Huddersfield. I'm sure Burnley fans will be keen to know the result of that game as they leave the Turf following our game against Cardiff.
