Jensen set for new deal

Brian Jensen
Jensen was a summer signing in 2003 following the departures of both Marlon Beresford and Nik Michopoulos. He played every game in that first season and over the last four seasons has played his fair share of games when sharing duties with first Danny Coyne and now Gabor Kiraly.

Coyle missed so many games due to injuries that Jensen was for long periods the only fit goalkeeper at the but with Coyne's departure last summer and the subsequent signing of Kiraly it was thought he would be very much second choice again.

He played some games earlier this season when Kiraly suffered an injury at Scunthorpe that at one point looked very serious. Kiraly was soon back in the team but Jensen regained his place after the cup tie against Arsenal only to lose it again after the trip to Hull. Three games later he was back in and is currently first choice keeper.

He's now played 177 first team games for the Clarets and has said today that manager Owen Coyle wants him to stay beyond this season.
