Jensen is first Claret in Team of the Week

But that changed this week following the two games against Wigan and at Gillingham and we are pleased to report that new keeper Brian Jensen has won a place in this week’s team.

He didn’t have an outstanding game at Gillingham simply because he didn’t have a great deal to do because of the way the rest of the team played but he dealt with everything excellently and did make one superb and vital save with the score at 2-0. A minute later and we were three up.

He finds himself in the company of a former Claret in Ian Cox whose inclusion must have been for Gillingham’s 1-0 win at Bradford on the Saturday.

So it’s congratulations to Brian and hopefully as the form picks up there will be more Burnley fans winning selection in this team.

The full team for this week is:

Brian Jensen (Burnley), Robert Page (Sheffield United), Danny Butterfield (Crystal Palace), Darren Bazeley (Walsall), Ian Cox (Gillingham), Paul Thirlwell (Sunderland), Pedro Matias (Walsall), Martin McIntosh (Rotherham), John Oster (Sunderland), James Collins (Cardiff), Iwan Roberts (Norwich).
