Out of the blue this week it was reported by BBC Scotland that we'd had a £1.5 million bid turned down for the Oldham born player with it being suggested that Hearts want around £2.5 million.
But it appears Jefferies, the manager who lost his job at Bradford City just as we were about to sign Robbie Blake in 2002, knows nothing about it. "Nobody has told me anything about a bid from Burnley for Andy or offers from any other clubs for that matter," he said.
Crucially he then added: "It may well be the case that an offer has been made, but it is news to me. I'm not saying that there has not been interest in the player because everybody can see that the lad is a great talent.
"Any offers for players will have to be discussed by the relevent football people including the manager."
