Jay Rodriguez - signed his new deal
Cole has opted not to take up the offer from the Clarets to extend his career at the Turf and manager Owen Coyle said: "At the end of the day it was always going to be a difficult one because of the level of finance.

"We loved working with him and I think he loved it at the football club, but he had a decision to make and he's made it, which he is within his rights to do. The bottom line is the deal's not been suitable to him."

We also reported just a short while ago that the club were still awaiting news on James O'Connor, Jay Rodriguez and David Unsworth - but it now appears that Jay has signed a new two year deal with the Clarets whilst both Adam Kay and Alex MacDonald have put pen to paper on one year deals, their first professional contracts.

Coyle has also said that the Unsworth deal is not dead and that Unsie now has a decision to make as to whether he wishes to continue his playing career or move into coaching. The club are still awaiting an answer from James O'Connor.
