Jay Rod on his way back

Jay got off to the best of starts, scoring a goal with his first touch when he came on at Preston as a substitute for his debut. But he started just one game during his month at Oakwell as well as making a total of five substitute appearances.

Ironically it was at Oakwell that he suffered the broken ankle in September that ruled him out until January.

Barnsley boss Mark Robins thanked the Clarets for allowing them to take Jay on loan when he confirmed that they wouldn't be looking to extend it. Jay could return in a claret and blue shirt in one of this week's reserve games.
