Jansen snubs Burnley for North West club in the Midlands

The Premiership club were obviously so desperate to get him out on loan that they initially leaked the news that we were interested and now, Coventry apart, it has been revealed that Derby, Watford and Wolves were also all keen to sign him.

But Jansen has opted for Coventry and the deal is expected to be completed in the next 24 hours with him staying at Highfield Road for the rest of the season.

His snub of Burnley though is a real kick in the teeth especially when his agent revealed the reasons for his choice.

1. They play good football and he is impressed with the manager. Does this suggest that we don't play good football? If so someone should have shown him a video of our game last Saturday against Coventry. That would have told him which of the two clubs play the football.

2. Coventry are in with a shout of the play offs. Anyone with even limited intelligence can see that a whole host of clubs are in with a good shout of the play offs and that includes the Clarets who are in fact just two points behind Coventry with a game in hand.

3. And worst of all he has chosen Coventry because of Highfield Road's close proximity to the North West. That suggests the deal may not go through in the end, if his geography is so bad then there is every chance that he will never find Coventry.

I have no problems with signing players from any club but I have to say having heard this absolute nonsense from Jansen he is clearly one player who we are better off sending to Coventry than having at Turf Moor.
