It's kids night at the reserves

Ian Gray - providing the only league experience tonight
It is injuries and loan deals that cut Stan’s options with seven players unavailable to him and his counterpart Ronnie Moore is not prepared to risk players with them also having injury worries.

The Burnley team has no first team experience whatsoever. Andrew Leeson is the oldest player in the line up at 20 whilst Matthew O’Neill, Mark Rasmussen and Andrew Waine did make the bench during the last injury/suspension crisis during the Christmas period.

The current problems also mean that two Centre of Excellence players, Tom Ince and Marc Pugh will be on the bench.

The Burnley team is: James Salisbury, Andrew Leeson, Paul Scott, Liam Eves, Ryan Townsend, Joel Pilkington, Mark Rasmussen, Andrew Waine, Damien Hindle, Richard Chaplow, Matthew O’Neill. Subs: Robert Grimes, Rhys Carpenter, Danny Pitham, Marc Pugh, Tom Ince.

It will be hardly any different with the visitors although they will have the experienced Ian Gray in goal. Gray has been at Rotherham for almost three years, arriving from the land of the Unprofessionals, but lost his place after a year with the return to Millmoor of Mike Pollit.

Other than Gray it is a side as inexperienced as ours with no other first team experience.

Rotherham line up: Ian Gray, Craig Mudd, Nick Page, Liam Kay, Luke Pritchard, Tom Smith, Andrew Middlebrook, Kris Bowler, Andrew Jones, Will Hoskins, Tom Fletcher. Subs: Stuart Ludlam, Jamie Waite, Mark Newsham, Sam Duncum, Ben Bradford.

The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m. and gives the reserves an opportunity to pull clear of next to bottom Oldham although a defeat of two or more would see us return to the relegation places.
