It's Kaye again

His last Burnley game was the recent 3-0 home defeat against Nottingham Forest when he handed out three yellow cards with all of them going to Forest players.

That is just about average for the Wakefield referee and In his twelve matches so far he is has handed out 35 yellows and 1 red. Of those yellow cards 14 have gone to home team players and 21 to away team players and the one player he has sent off was Preston keeper Jonathan Gould at West Brom.

He will probably always be remembered by Clarets fans for his four penalty nightmare performance at Crewe in the 2000/01 season, a match that left both Dario G and Stan somewhat bemused.

But that has really been his only poor performance when taking charge of the Clarets and his performance at the Forest game was hardly worthy of comment, he was hardly noticed, and that is probably the biggest compliment that can be paid to a referee.

Tomorrow he will be assisted by Gary Mellor (South Yorkshire) and Christopher Reeves (East Yorkshire).
