I don't think it will come as much of a surprise to anyone who was at the Turf last Tuesday, and I don't think the margin of his victory in both categories will come as much of a surprise either.

He won his fourth man of the match award in the last six games and this time with a bigger percentage of the vote, claiming no less than 63.3%. Jack Cork, another who has been collecting points aplenty recently towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year, claimed second place with 11.7% and Dean Marney came in third with 7.5% of the vote.

Although it wasn't the same top three in the player ratings, we did have the same top four in both. Cork dropped to fourth in the ratings and was replaced by Leon Cort who had finished fourth in the man of the match vote.

Again it was Eagles with a rating of 8.94 out of 10 and the only time that rating has been beaten by any player this season was by Eagles himself who scored 9.00 against Bolton. Second this time was Marney whose rating was 8.12 and a rating of 7.88 was enough to give Cort third place.

That gives Eagles another six points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year, Marney wins three points with two to Cork and one to Cort. Those points have now seen Eagles go nine points clear at the top of the table whilst there is only one point separating Andre Bikey and Cork for second place.
