He's not the first to win both in one season, in fact since we started the awards for the 2001/02 season no fewer than four players have done that particular double. Arthur Gnohere won both in that first season, two years later Robbie won one and had a share in the other and two seasons ago Ade Akinbiyi was the winner of both.
This season Wade didn't quite run away with the Goal of the Season as last season. That goal on Wearside polled 73% of the vote a year ago but this year he's won it with 53.3% but that's still some distance away from second place which was taken by Kyle Lafferty and his goal against Barnsley with 12.2% of the vote.
To complete the top three was Joey Gudjonsson's goal at Watford in what was Owen Coyle's first away game as manager. The goal gave us a 2-0 lead in the game and remains Joey's only goal in Burnley colours. He polled 8.6% and just beat Graham Alexander into third place.
