It is Marlon's turn this week

There was much debate as to who our man of the match was last Saturday but never did anyone of us come up with Marlon Beresford who had a quiet afternoon as Derby hardly ever got near our goal.

So not surprisingly it is Marlon who has made the Nationwide team of the Week. There’s no sign of Gareth Taylor or Ian Moore and I’m certain they haven’t even heard of Driss Diallo. But we should be thankful we haven’t been forgotten completely.

In nominating Marlon the Football League said, "The Clarets’ Lincoln born stopper is earning an excellent reputation in what is his second spell at the club. Stan Ternent is building a reliable and efficient side , and 33 year-old Beresford is the epitomy of that. – making some good saves especially in the second half when Derby threatened to come back into the game through Adam Murray. His calm and assured presence ensured the Turf Moor side scored their second league double of the season."

The full team last week was,

Marlon Beresford (Burnley), Darren Kenton (Norwich), Jim Brennan ( Forest), Danny Cullip (Brighton), David Wetherall (Bradford), Gareth Williams (Forest), Paul Ince (Wolves), James Harper (Reading), Luke Chadwick (Reading), Paul Dickov (Leicester), Marlon Harewood (Forest).
