Moore: Not in talks with Burnley
Burnley have made significant progress in their chase for a new boss and almost certainly they will already have spoken to the man who will take over the hot seat. Despite speculation that the Rotherham boss was in talks his current club have made it clear that is not the case.

"Clubs must seek permission if they wish to speak to a manager who is under contract," said Rotherham's chief executive, Phil Henson. "None has been sought.

"We have had no contact from Burnley or any other club who have been linked with our manager. We don't want any contact either.

"Our position remains the same - he is our manager, he is under contract for a further twelve months and that is the situation.

"He continues to be linked with various clubs but most is just speculation. If a club speaks to him without asking permission first then they are breaking the rules."

Henson would not mislead the supporters of his own club so it has to be accepted that Moore hasn’t spoken to Burnley at all and not only that Burnley have made no approach to Rotherham to speak to him.

It seems the early names are now all disappearing one by one with suggestions that Colin Lee and Eric Black are now out of the running.

The wait shouldn’t be much longer, another ten days at most. And then we can begin the speculation as to which players might be coming in.
